Guddal/Matte: "Genesis for 2 Grand Pianos"
Review by Sven Eriksen, Tarkus Magazine - www.tarkus.org
At least three conditions must be fulfilled to make a project like this successful: 1) The musicians have to understand what material they're playing, 2) the musicians must be good, and 3) the final result must sound good. It's a pleasure to conclude that the two musicians have succeeded in all respects. They have managed to communicate all the instruments and textures from the originals in a remarkable way. The drama in "Fountain of Salmacis", the romance in "One For The Vine", the rhythm of "Down and Out", and the dynamics in "Can-Utility and the Coastliners" have in all detail and very interestlingly been interpreted for the two grand pianos. In my opinion, so successful that I feel I can hear more detail, and feel the mood, even more and better here than on the original recordings by Genesis.
This is definately not a gimmick, but rather a soulful and interesting contribution to the understanding of the music of Genesis - with a long life-span for all fans. I hope you come up with your next project soon.

Note from the editor: The CD will be launched with more "drama" and more information later this year - and there will be some surprises connected to it...
